Velvet mite (Allothrombium)

Reveler Conservation Area

Although it was chilly, at zero and with a cold wind, this velvet mite was wandering around a rock pile. Mites are in the Class: Arachnida, in the Subclass: Acari (mites and ticks). Velvet mites are in the family Trombidiidae.
