Painted lichen moth (Hypoprepia fucosa) laying eggs, #8090

Reveler Conservation Area

This moth is laying eggs in moss on a small rock. I had been sitting there for awhile, after several hours of walking, and when I got up, this moth appeared from the other side and walked very purposefully to where I'd been sitting. She then clambered down the side of the rock and after casting around a bit found the perfect spot for laying eggs, which she proceeded to do for the next 30 minutes.
