Camel treehopper (Smilia camelus)

Fletcher Wildlife Garden

There are various treehoppers affiliated closely with oak trees. I have spent a lot of time staring at oaks, looking for one or the other of these little bugs. Finally, in the pouring rain yesterday, I found this particular species. The rain obscures the green stripes on this hopper.

I can still see some green stripes. This is a pretty little bug in the literal sea of green. Great detail and color. V.
