Stinkbug eggs

This was taken through a microscope. Eggs of a stinkbug (probably the Large Green Stinkbug) found on a Manitoba Maple leaf in autumn. Most of the eggs had hatched, but one, near the upper right corner, has a covering still on it, and didn't hatch. The entire egg mass on the leaf was less than 1/4 inch across.

I always love the perfect geometry of the eggs. This is really incredible given that it was taken through a microscope. An invisible nursery. V.
