Grendel was the latest addition to our household back in September 2012. He came from the local SPCA. He is about 5 years old, and, so they told me, a Maine Coon/Norwegian Forest Cat mix, but from reading about the latter breed, I think he is mostly that, with very little, if any, Maine Coon. He is large, self-confident, affectionate, not afraid of anything, believes he owns the world (!) and stalks around the house as if he has lived here forever. Grendel just seemed an appropriate name somehow (fans of the ancient saga Beowulf, will know about Grendel!).
