Despair

No more Terror Alerts. No more high levels at Orange, Orange, Orange. Don't want to hear abour homeland security. Don't want to hear about Al Qeda. Don't want to hear about suicide bombers. Give me news about someone's first kiss. Give me news about happy thoughts, funny animals.......

happy thoughts....

a weekend in NYC in March
a beautiful cat in Lara's arms
an amazing Egyptian lady with an intelligent, funny, beautiful Lebanese daughter
an open invitation for 'the return trip' to England and either London or Cornwall - take your pick
Sting being able to F*ck for NINE hours! (that doesn't rock my boat but I'll bet it does yours)
a cold beer
adventures yet to come
hearing that song on the radio
remembering your own first kiss
friends

Is this enough?

Don't despair Lara - you make a difference!

Lxx

yes Dave it is. and she's been waving at me to come and take her photo already. :) Mark, I decided to pick up Archie comic books instead of the paper these days.

Great image Lara.

OK, here's my positive story. My honey and I got invited out to dinner on Friday. The plan was 'all-you-can-eat Indian buffet'. I was hesitant to express my concerns about being tempted with unlimited greasy foods now that I'm trying to shed my excess pounds, but I gathered my courage and said "I would love to spend the evening in your company, however that particular venue does not support my current healthier lifestyle". Guess what happened? They agreed to go to a place where I could eat healthily and guilt free!

I know it's a small thing in the grand scheme, but it's a really big thing in MY scheme!

Oh, and the photo does a good job of conveying your despair. Looks genuine.

Check out jude mc's photos from the beach today. They are happy snaps. :-) Turn off the TV. They hype everything for ratings. Selectively read the paper so you know what's up, but in calmer tones. Believe me, my world is calmer and more peaceful because I don't know half of the crap that people scream on TV. Conflict, violence, fear...all very primal and all draw viewers by connecting with that primal need for security; and hyped on the news because it translates to higher ad revenues. Boy am I a pessimist. But it's true. Most products today aren't sold on value, they are sold on emotion, including the news. Ironic that the Enlightment took us down a path towards better ways to push our buttons by appealing, not to reason, but to hysteria. And how to do that has been rationally calculated. Okay, off the soap box. Cheer up and go for a walk in the park tomorrow. You might see that kiss.

You just sing this little song. It goes: "91 days of Bush on the wall, 91 days of Bush. Take one down, pass it around, 90 days of Bush on the wall..." There's certainly more hope out there than they're letting on.

My head is SOOO far in the sand, hun...We can only hope for change. Maybe in Novemeber!

WONDERFULLY emotive image, VERY timely!! Kick ass Lara!!! Here's a happy thing ok? Tongiht, TOny and I were making dinner, and he saw our awesome neighbor, Margaret outside, and he invited her in for dinner, spur of the moment and she came in, and it was WONDERFUL. 2 hours of delightful talk and laughs. There is GOOD out there, we just need to dig a little deeper ad make a little more effort to find it! XXXXX
