Broken

West Virginia

“Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass.”
Anton Chekhov

A big wind came through while I was at work and blew this old Coleman lantern over and broke the glass.

Perfect pairing of quote and image, as usual! You are good at this. This is terrific monotone image, giving rise to thoughts of camping days and living without electricity. V

Oh too bad. Maybe you can get a replacement glass. I like this in B&W. And I do like details on the cloth mantle. V

Ah, I remember old Coleman lamps; haven't seen one of those in years. Taking it to mono reflects the age of it well; keeping the wick (for want of a better term; can't remember what they are actually called) a pure white brings it into the modern era at the same time.
