Ernie O'Leary

Today I spent about 3 hours (and wish it could have been 30) with Norma O'Leary at the O'Leary Dairy farm up the road.
Last summer at NECCC I heard an interesting presentation --give me a minute to remember who it was- about finding the most interesing things to shoot-not in some afar away place, but in your back yard. This gentleman lived near a farm in VT and had taken to shadowing the farmers. It immediately-even while I was in Amherst- struck a chord with me, and I finally asked a good friend whom he would suggest I ask about shadowing at a farm. Dick didn't hesitate for a second and recommended Norma and Ernie O'Leary.
So for the next year I have committed to shadow -- but not get in the way, my rules! ---- this hard working farm family. I am already entranced, and learned more about the dailry farmer than I knew in all my years.

BTW, this is a Skid Steer. It saves a ALOT of shoveling time :)

What a fantastic thing to do. I look forward to future photos.....my husband wanted a Skid Steer so bad....for moving rocks. He would have had a ball with it! Happy New Year, Karen.

Poised and ready for action ! Bet this saves hours of hard work. Im sure you will show us what a hard job this farming is. With the bold tyres on his left wonder how it grips in all that errrr slurry ? things must fly everywhere take coverrrrrr !

If that's Mrs O'Leary's cow you might want to go collect the lamps & put them safely out of reach :>)....

Finally - you've risen to the dizzy heights of farm photography! LOL!

I can't think of anyone better to undertake this project - definitely an exhibition prospect! This could be a farm scene anywhere in the western world. Farmers deserve more recognition.

Bet your car was fragrant when you got in with your boots on!!!!!

Hope you've got the long warranty on your boots.
