31-JUL-2005

Ending July with a bang.
Spent the better part of the day exploring Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, MA. An 1830's village it was fascinating to look back at a home based economy, the hard work every member of the family was expected to contribute, the dependace on the land. Next weekend there will be a Redcoats to Rebels display so I might go back. Spent the whole day in manual mode, good thing, too, because of the darkness in the buildings. Putting up a series in the next couple days as they get processed. Seems like I have a lot of processing to do between yesterday and today. Bleh.

Wow! Very cool! The flash pan going off, the sparks flying, barely concealed by the smoke - this is a fantastic shot! What perfect timing - you were well prepared for this.

Perfect capture, Karen! Definitely something different. Love his hat too; looks like an early, colonial predecssor to the ten gallon cowboy hats ;) Very well done.

Terrific work. It really conveys the sense of excitement and the flurry of such an old gun. I really get a big bang out of this one.

Ditto to the coastline's comment. Not that I would know of course but I am sure it is better this way. Nice shot here. Love the fireworks you captured. But where's the wheelbarrow?

"a lot of processing to do between yesterday and today" . . .yes, but it isn't it so much nicer than spending HOURS . . no DAYS . . in a darkroom =]
