The Market Arcade

The Market Arcade, at 617 Main St. Buffalo is generally regarded to have been built in 1892, however the date on the building's facade is MDCCCXI, or 1891. It was designed by the Buffalo architectural firm of Green and Wicks.

The Market Arcade served as a connector from Main Street to the Washington Market.

The Market Arcade closed sometime in the 1970's, and after restoration, reopened in 1995, and remains a commercial building, housing a restaurant, offices, and art galleries. It makes for an interesting lunch destination.
