This beautiful building is now privately owned by a company, Environmental Education Associates. The owner has done a wonderful job updating the inside of the building while still preserving much of the history.

I remember pct.13 on Hertel between Elmwood and Military.I had to take supplies there during the U.B.riots.I BELIEVE 13 WAS headquarters for the riot police assignment.

Precinct 13 is located on Austin Street just west of Grant Street. This Precinct protected the Riverside/Black Rock area of the city for many years. It also used to lined with massive trees in the front, and was built during the days of foot patrols and horse mounted officers.
It functioned as a police house till the mid 20th Century, and then was home to the Buffalo Police Athletic League for a some years until the mid-1980's. Now it is vacant awaiting rebirth. It is still by far the most impressive former Precinct in the city.
