Courier-Express Building

785 Main St. Buffalo

This was the Courier-Express Building, which was Buffalo's morning newspaper until the early 1980's, when it folded. It was built in 1930, in the Art Deco style. It now houses offices of the Roman Catholic Diocese.

The small addition was added around 1969-70 by Pfohl Roberts & Biggie, Architects, where I was a summer intern in architecture. PRB also did the City Court Building, the Renovation of Memorial Aud (long gone) and a bunch of Twin Fairs.

I agree wholeheartedly with Bob. Too many good buildings going to waste.

Instead of closing schools & churches the bishop should close this place and get rid of all the freeloaders that workthere Sell the building and use a mothballed school for the church offices
