This is the Water intake for the City of Buffalo. It is approx. 6.660 feet from shore. I've been in this structure numerous times. At one time it was manned by personnel to chop up the ice as it clogged up their inlets. It had two coal steam boilers and one steam generator for electrical power. Transportation to and from shore was via the fire boat Edward Cotter.

My husband and I were in Buffalo on June 23, 2008 and wonder what this building was..
the Buffalo Intake Crib Light...adjacent to it was another fixture but could not see
what it was. It look a frame of a ship with with possibly a light on top. Could you
please tell me what it was. Thank you, Nancy Holmes...Long Beach Washington
