My daughter also hade one of thesebanks which she valued. I would love to get her another one. It also got broken. The bank has been torn down. When this was happning I was driving by. There were two large pieces of red granet with carving on one end. They weighed about 150 pounds. I asked my husband to ask if we could have them. They were a particial carvng. Stod upright they looked like a gargoyl. I later used one asa grave stone for my daschound wo died of old age. Her grave is in a pet cematary somewhere around Bufflo.

When I was a little girl about 5-years-old. I used to visit my great grandmother in a nursing home.
I used to really look forward to this time and loved her very much. She had a way of making me feel special. Everyone else said that this lady was not very friendly but to me she was wonderful.
She had a little plastic bank of the Buffalo savings bank. I have no idea how she got it. It was just a little grey plastic bank and If I remember correctly it had a bell on top that she would let me ring once every time I saw her and she would give me a penny. When she passed away at 103 she willed the little bank to me and it was my most treasured possession. I have always had a great love for old people even to this day because of her.
Unfortunately my precious little plastic bank was broken and I have always wished I could find another one. If anyone happens to have one, knows where to get one, or knows more information about these little plastic banks please let me know.

I remember going to that bank at the age of 5 and thinking this was the best place I have ever been to. I was scared to move. It was huge!
