March 11

London

Those aren't my feet, mine should be somewhere else.
I wished the 3 people standing in the background weren't there...

Yesterday, I and 2 colleagues had our leaving do. A great night!
In the end of this month, I will move in Switzerland for 7 months to work on a new project.
I am very happy to move on something new and different but
I will miss the atmosphere and all the great people I've been working with for the last 3 years.

Canon EOS 350D

i have a habit of not reading the story behind the pics written below before i comment, for a moment i thought it was your feet:-)).lovely pic Kim.somnehow the main focus in this shot are the feets so the background dosent disturb.

I dig the people in the background, narrates the scene. Good luck in Switzerland, what an adventure!!!
Guest 14-Mar-2006 03:57
oh,Vote btw.

Good luck to you in Switzerland!
I'm sure we'll get to see some beautiful photos.
Guest 14-Mar-2006 03:56
Wow...just like a scene from some independent movie.
I agree with you...these are the kind of photos that I hope to get too because they tell a story.

Que de débats autour de cette image! Je n'y entre pas... Je me contente de dire que j'aime l'idée des pieds appuyés au bord de la table de billard. Et la lumière.

Great shot, Kim! Your composition is outstanding as are the colors and dof! Voting. Good luck in your new endeavor, I look forward to your posts.

I think this is great too Kim - the men definitely add something to the shot - the one on the right is saying "whatcha reckon, does she fancy me or does she always sit like that?". I'm sure they have bars like this in Switzerland as well.

The photo is perfect as it is. It raises the question, as in Rod Stewart's song,"Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" --- the answer is a resounding Yes!!!

Antonio and Kal and everyone, thank you really much for your critic.
After thinking about it, I think the 3 standing men defenitely add something to the "story",
but there is still something I don't like, perhaps, it is the bag or the pose. I wish they were more like queuing...
I do really like the man waiting with the queue but he could have had a stronger presence.
I completely agree with the shutter speed but I also like the out of focus BG.
This shot is a very lucky one because we already had quite a lot of drinks and improvised this shot for Katie
who really wanted a photo of her new red shoes.
Now, I wish I could do that shot again and try defferent apertures to get the feeling right.
This is the kind of photo I like and I wish I could do better because it tells a story...
Thanks for all your comments, Kim

I like the people in the back. it adds more of a sense of mystery - they look like they are deciding whether to approach her or not. Clever shot Kim.
Kal Khogali12-Mar-2006 11:55
Opps I meant cropped man at left!
Kal Khogali12-Mar-2006 11:55
I like the people at the back...makes the pose more provocative...and it is reflected in the cropped man at right...there is a tension here ;-)) K PS I actually think the colour links in the image make this image even greater.

Oooooo... nice shot! Don't be despair, things will work just fine for you. Look forward to your new posting in Swiss :-)

A really eye-catching piece with the red and black footwear against the blue baise.
Looking forward to that 'Switzerland by Night' gallery ;->

rather provocative.
Antonio Pierre De Almeida11-Mar-2006 23:23
Zut zut et rezut... je m'explique. The men standing in the back are a crucial part of this picture. They add a lot !!! Unfortunately, I don't like the blur caused by the low shutter speed.. The colours are just perfect for the story told in this picture. Next time you should take your time while taking your picture, it makes all the difference!! (et zut on dirait que je suis le seul à parler photo non mais !!!)

You'll be sending us chocolate, right?
Marisa Livet11-Mar-2006 20:02
The picture is great, I appreciate the fact the feet are not yours;^))
It's true that the people in the background are slightly disturbing, but the shot has a deep ironical impact and the effect is not spoilt.
