19th December 2004Though I've hiked Dragon's Back 打爛程頂山 (284m) before, it was never the less no less fun. However, this time there were more things to see and a slight variation on the finish. You may be interested to note that this trek also doubles as the last section of the Hong Kong trail.Anyway, after a short walk from the bus stop to the top of the "back", we set our sights on the spectacular view of Shek O directly below us. We where also lucky that day as there were some paragliders, literally, zooming past us playing on the up-draft from the steep slopes. A few where taking off at the time as well. It's quite amazing to see people in parachutes only a few metres a way - not - I repeat - not - going down but going horizontal as well as the occasional up as well. After watching this for a while we continued down (and up) the spine of Dragon's back and to our next destination where we found some guys piloting a remote controlled glider like a WWII Spitfire doing sharps turns, dives and loop the loops - all on a glider. From there it was a short hop, skip and jump back down the ridge and a quick detour further east down the (other) ridge for views of Chai Wan and down onto Tai Long wan (Big Wave Bay).
