Australians are being urged to be Waterwise due to our drought.
I couldn't help but notice this quote from "Reminiscences of and Old Squatter Robert Bruce"
which shows that being waterwise is nothing new to Aussies.

"...the overseer arrived as Mrs McLeod was transferring water in which
eggs had been boiled, into a saucepan lid:

'...six boys were all thoroughly scrubbed, and yet at the end there was some water left in the lid for the hens...' "
