Monument Valley

Monument Valley

Located on the southern border of Utah with northern Arizona, Monument Valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation. The Navajo name for the valley is Tsé Bii' Ndzisgaii (Valley of the Rocks). Accessible from U.S. Highway 163 Monument Valley has been featured in many movies since the 1930s. It was a favorite of film director John Ford and actor John Wayne who filmed many westerns there. It was also used in the film "Back to the Future III" and in the "MacGyver" TV series.
