A sculpture by Kurt Gebauer
I took (more or less) the same shot 2 months before this one but wasn't satisfied with it because of the lack of contrast.
This time the autumn leaves covering the ground provided the perfect background.
Idea: press F11 before and after browsing (next|previous) this gallery.
From the 'Open-Air Museum of Sculpture Middelheim' brochure:
'A unique coillection has grown up here over the years. More than 300 works provide an overview of modern and contemporary sculpture, beginning with artists like Auguste Rodin, Emile-Antoine Bourdelle, Aristide Maillot, Pablo Gargallo, Henry Moore, Ossip Zadkine and Giacomo Manzu.
New names are still being added to the list. Recently, work has been bought from Guillaume Bijl, Luciano Fabro, Per Kirbeky, Matt Mullican, Juan Muņoz, Panamarenko, Franz West, Jef Geys and Atelier van Lieshout.
A map - you can pick one up at the entrance - will guide you to the most important works spread around the 28-hectare park'
By the way, admission is free.
Open from 10 am until 5 pm (winter) or later (8 pm in summer). Closed on Mondays and some holidays.
