A very nice partner to your summer shot of the same subject later that year. Interesting counterpoint with the landscape leading the eye to the left and the sky leading it to the right. The two trees seem to be calling tone another over the snow. V

Karl - I love this shot but feel like Armand to some degree. I realize neither of us was there, BUT if it were possible I would have wished that the tree in the foreground was where it is now but the tree in the backgound was in the upper third right.

Excellent shot. I like the high contrast treatment to the snow, and the way the snow texture clashes with the clouds. I am a bit unsure about the framing... why didn't you try and capture more of what was to the left?

now this is a spectacular shot, fantastic composition, the shadows of the hill, the shape of the hill with the tree on top, and the way the bigger tree balances it, and of course the wavy cloud and blue sky.
