Idaho whitewater, adventure race, mt. biking, 6/06

Three days of back-to-back whitewater rafting on rain-swollen rivers, mountain biking in the Boise foothills and exploring downtown Boise and the surrounding greenbelt by bike was an incredible introduction to the state of Idaho. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I joined three different rafting companies to explore a few wet and wild sections of the new Whitewater Trail, 3,000-plus-miles of whitewater rafting on seven different sections of rivers. (www.whitewatertrail.com) Another highlight: following The Raid X-Adventure World Cup, a 48-hour adventure race that featured about 30 teams from around the world who raced nearly non-stop Saturday and Sunday. The teams of 3 racers competed in whitewater canoeing, inline skating, mountain-biking, rope work and orienteering.
