Anzali Lagoon

Bandar Anzali

Located in an area of 15,000 hectares near the northern port city of Bandar Anzali in Gilan Province, Caspian Sea, Anzali Lagoon is one of the few Iranian wetlands which have been registered as an international wetland in the 1975 Ramsar Convention.

Stilt-house looks tenuous, and just dangerous in high water conditions. I can't even imagine what kinds of snakes must crawl up into this dwelling during the night! V
