Seeing such a majestic beast in a cage is always something of a melacholy experience for us. In many cases, zoo animals cannot function as wild animals due to their early removal from the wild, to an injury, or to some other factor. These animals become ambassadors for conservation and education as zoo animals. But seeing a beast designed to take prey at a run across an open plain or forest locked up in confined quarters eating beef steaks from a butcher can be a saddening experience. We feel for these animals at the same time that we appreciate them for their beauty and raw power. But can you imagine meeting one of these tigers in the wild! Hopefully one day...
