I think you would have stressed that glow more expressively if you had implied, instead of emphasized, the flat lighting on the foreground trees. As it stands, the eye keeps coming back to the strongest mass of color in the image --- the trees, instead of feasting on the most subtle beauty in the image -- the dappled light on the mountain.
