NGC 4618 (Arp 023) & NGC 4625

NGC 4618 (Arp 023) spiral galaxy type SBm (lower center), and NGC 4625 spiral galaxy type SBm/P in
Canes Venatici. NGC 4618 is included in the Arp Atlas of peculiar galaxies in the category of
“One-armed Spiral Galaxies”. Both galaxies belong to the Canes Venatici II Group of galaxies which has
M106 as the dominant member. Taken Apr. 17, 18, 30 and May 2, 2010. Imaged with CCD Lab’s
Q285M Camera and a C8N at f5 on a Losmandy G11/Gemini mount. The L subframes were 5 minutes
binned 1x1, while the RGB frames were 2.5 minutes binned 2x2. The final total exposures were L : R : G :
B (min) = 255 : 50 : 50: 50. Captured with Nebulosity, calibrated and sigma combined in Iris with final
processing using PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS. North is up.
