I make the montages by pasting individual images onto a blank canvas in Paint Shop Pro X. I cut out figures where there is overlap prior to pasting and/or I erase selectively to reveal underlying images. I use the 5 fps continuous shooting feature on my Canon 30D to get the individual images, I shoot raw files, and I use manual settings to ensure that the exposure is consistent. When I'm done pasting, I paste and clone to fill in voids in the background.
