Tossa de Mar is the most attractive of the bigger resort towns, and a particularly nice place to arrive by Crucero. In the Vila Vella (Old Town) cobbled streets with stone cottages lead up to a lighthouse with impressive views of the bay. Outside the old walls there are steep, whitewashed narrow streets full of bars and restaurants. There are a plenty of good places to eat in Tossa. Can Tonet on Plaça de l’Esglesia has been going since 1900. The Municipal Museum has got the only Chagall painting in Spain, named the Celestial Violinist. (Chagall holidayed here in 1934). The museum also has some Roman mosaics excavated at a nearby 2nd-century villa, named Turissa, from where Tossa derives its name
