At the Puerta del Perdon - the “Gate
of forgiveness” - rises this, the the
tallest tower in Cordoba. It is 54
metres in height and is accessed
by means of 203 steps. These
revolve around the old minaret
of Abd ar-Rahman III, from which
the muezzin called the faithful to
prayer and which is preserved inside
the Baroque structure. The tower,
designed by Hernan Ruiz III, is topped
by a sculpture of the Archangel
Raphael.
