Grinzing was an independent municipality until 1892 and is today a part of Döbling, the 19th district of Vienna.

For the longest time, Grinzing was a village and a small cluster of vineyards in Vienna's surroundings.
Today it is full of cozy restaurants serving local wines and food, and with live folk music.
