The Jordan Feast

Teodor Axentowicz (1859 - 1938) - "The Jordan Feast", watercolor, ca. 1910.

"Jordan" is a holiday in Greek-catholic church, remembering of the baptism of Jesus in Jordan River.
For Roman Catholics in many countries, the feast is celebrated on January 6
Eastern Churches following the Julian Calendar observe the Theophany feast on January 19 because of the 13-day difference today between that calendar and the generally used Gregorian calendar.

Alternative names for the feast include Epiphany and Theophany.
The Orthodox Churches perform the Great Blessing of Waters on Theophany, outdoor at the body of water.
