The Chemist's House

Zamosc, Poland

Errected in 1619, in place of older building, by Szymon Piechowicz from Turobin, a chemist and a professor of medicine at the Zamosc Academy.
In 1609 he bought the first house and started a pharmacy in it, continuing in the new house. Then his descendants proceeded the tradition.
The building still houses a chemist's shop with 19th century cabinets inside. It's the oldest pharmacy in Poland, working for 400 years!
