I've posted this hand-held grabbed shot here as an example to show that image stablisation or a tripod are required if you want to have success with this type of subject. There just wasn't sufficient light for hand-held to work well at that focal length and ISO. There was also a similar gold coloured bird on a rock nearby, and people (into local birds) who saw the image could identify it but were aghast that I'd missed the opportunity to shoot it without camera shake.
