We went out to Decatur today for lunch and a trip to the Fernbank Science Center. This is a small place that amazingly has the Apollo 6 (unmanned) capsule. Anyway, they also have a small forest which we hiked around. I came upon this Ginkgo tree. I remember from my days as a member of ESCONI Juniors (earth science club of northern Illinois) that this is a "living fossil." I shot this against a bright sky.

Very interesting, I have no recollection of ever seeing a Ginkgo tree.
A very good photo.
