We went model flying today. I got a couple of nice flights in then a near disaster. The receiver battery had decided to crap out and the airplane arrived on terra firma in an uncontrolled state. Fortunately, there was no damage. We were baffled about why there was absolutely no response from the airplane since I had just charged the battery. A quick test with a volt meter showed the battery was the culprit. It is always a problem when glitches occur because it is sometimes hard to isolate the problem.

and that's why you need to run battery pack checks between times 8-)
One bad cell in a battery and things can go so wrong for you..

I like to do timed and controlled discharge tests on packs at the proper rate
so I know what a pack is doing over time. (not the only tests done)
plus, I keep a log of each pack.

More work? YUP.. but, less than building a new aircraft and rebuilding the engine lol
