Day Eight

The first part of today was a relocation drive from Independence, MO, to Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. It was an easy drive with only a few slow spots due to construction. We checked into our hotel and relaxed a bit before heading to have a nice dinner with my sister Jean and her family. One of the big things was to deliver back to her the family photos I had borrowed for a scanning project. That was six big boxes of stuff. It was good to offload that stuff. I also spent a little while messing with her computer which was suffering the common long startup syndrome. We shut down tons of startup programs and that seemed to help to some extent.

Anyway, we had a nice dinner and just hung out chatting until it was time to leave.

Today's photo is from the Iowa Welcome Center in Lamoni, IA. We stopped there for a break and found that it was in Amish country. There was an Amish Country Store where we found some treats for the grandkids. There was also these cow statues constructed from oil tanks and milk cans. Ginny thought it was cool. So did I. I guess we are both easily amused.
