We started the day at the Hearst Castle in San Simeon. If you haven't been there, it is worth seeing. William Randolph Hearst was the guy. Very wealthy. The place is huge. In the good old days, many celebrities would stay there for some length of time. It has been preserved in its original state so on tour you can see things as they actually were. That is cool. May times you visit a house or other building and they tell you that it has period furnishings. That means not original. We took a couple tours and enjoyed the experience.
We got lucky because Route 1 had just recently opened after being closed for a year or so for repairs. So we drove up the coast and had a couple scenic stops. One was the Bixby Bridge. It has been made famous by car commercials. We also stopped and got some nice photos of the waves crashing onto the rocks. Eventually we ended up in Monterey for the night.
Today's photo is of some reflections in the indoor pool at the Hearst Castle.
