We did two stops on the Bourbon Trail today, Bulleit and Jim Beam. We are enjoying the tours because they are informative and often humorous. The guides, called ambassadors, are very good. The subject is interesting. The tastings are fun. What's not to like?
At the Bulleit facility (it is all rickhouses, no distilling on the site any more) we had the opportunity to meet Tom Bulleit, the founder. He was a very interesting fellow and he spent quite a long time talking to us. He was very accommodating and friendly. He even let us take several shots of Ginny sitting in his chair. Very cool! BTW - my favorite rye whiskey is Bulleit. It has a 95% rye mash bill (balance malted barley).
