Today was a travel day. Our first tour to the Maritimes ended with breakfast in Halifax. We had a nice time chatting with the friends we had met on the tour then headed out to the airport. Our plane was an hour late, but we passed the time talking with friends who were also dealing with late planes. Fortunately for us, we were only going on a one hop to Deer Lake, Newfoundland. Today's photo is if Ginny relaxing in one of the nice Adirondack chairs that we found at the Halifax Airport.
Upon arrival at Deer Lake we took a taxi to our hotel. Their housekeeping staff was running very late, and there was no room available for us. We walked up the highway to a liquor store and got some stuff, but by the time we got back to the hotel there was still no room. At this pointo our friends Ron and Marilyn showed up with a bottle of wine and we went to a banquet room and enjoyed a nice glass of wine.
We had a nice dinner and met all the other people on this tour. Our tour leader is a Newfie who plays the guitar and sings. He is also quite a historian about the fisheries. This is going to be a very interesting trip.
