This our beloved G11. You might not remember that it had a heart attack and died last summer just two weeks before we were to head out for a trip to Spain and Portugal. We replaced it with a G15 which we like very much. As a matter of fact we got another G15 so that we could both have one when we travel.
The situation with the G11 is that the repairs would cost more than its value to sell. Just doesn't make sense to do that. Ginny found that they are being sold on ebay for parts, and that is where our darling is headed. I also have an underwater housing for it which we found to work great when we went to the Galapagos Islands. We could fix it so that we would have an underwater camera rig, but now days there are several really good compact underwater cameras available. That is a technology which has made great strides in the last few years. So Ginny is going to sell the underwater rig as well.
So there is going to be some turnover in the Cross family stable of cameras. Now, as a look ahead to tomorrow, I will tell you that there is a package that is making its way from New York to our house and it is supposed to arrive tomorrow. A hint is that it is from B&H Photo and Video. I am rather anxious to open this package. You will have to wait until tomorrow to find out what is in it. Guess if you are so disposed.
