We steamed all night from Sitka to Juneau. It was pretty leisurely at 10 knots. The weather turned foul so we awaoke to light rain and cold. So we went to Plan B, which is Plan A with rain gear. For the morning we went to Mendenhall Glacier which is right in Juneau. We had been there a little over a week ago on a bright sunny day and got a lot of very nice photos. Ginny and I watched the movie at the Visitor Center again. The usual climate change alarmist balderdash, but really great photography.

A little before noon we headed into downtown Juneau. You have to remember that Juneau is a prime cruise ship stopping point. Today there were 4 of them arriving. The first thing we did was head up the Mount Roberts tram and find a place at the top to eat the box lunch we were given. That finished we went over to the Nature Center which is really a gift shop.. I showed great restraint and did not purchase the book about Alaskan outhouses. It would have made such a nice Christmas present. We ended up wandering around the streets of Juneau marveling at the kind of crap they sell to tourists. We got off the beaten path a little bit and found some local junk shops which were fun to go through. Then we headed to the library and took advantage of the free computer access and checked email. I couldn't remember what my password was.

After collecting everybody, we headed back to the boat for a short cruise to the Orca Point Lodge for dinner. The weather remained crappy, the walking over the floating dock was a little tippy, but the reward was outstanding. We were treated to a dinner of King Crab, baked salmon and prime rib. It was delicious! I got stuck on the crab and salmon and didn't didn't even get to the prime rib. It was still raining, so we decided not to go out to the campfire for s'mores. I decided a glass of wine and downloading photos from the day's activities would be the ticket for this evening. Tomorrow is Glacier Bay. We spent a coulple nights there on our honeymoon in 1976.
