Everybody has heard of a pub crawl. A great thing to do in my estimation. Well, today we tried a modification to that endeavor. We called it a distillery crawl. In Southeast Portland there are five distilleries that offer tastings for $5. Ginny was apprehensive, but her brother and I were game for the outing. It turned out to be fantastic. We sampled quite a few liquors that these guys are making and I learned a lot about making whiskey and other products. At the end of the day even Ginny had a great time and we left with a bunch of bottles of various alcoholic beverages. My favorite one was the New Deal Distillery. They had a really first rate distillation section with several pot stills and one 20 plate still for making neutral spirits. We had a long talk with the master distiller. It was a hoot.
