We had another great day in Natchez. There are a lot of very well preserved homes here from the early 1800s. This is Rosalie which is on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. It is owned by the daughters of the American Revolution. We also visited Stanton Hall. These places are pretty neat because a lot of them have original furnishings. The folks who lived here really knew how to live well. In the afternoon we went back over to Louisiana to visit Frogmore, a cotton plantation. It was very interesting especially the discussion of what happened to the plantations during and after the Civil War. Now, if you want to have some real fun, look up the Emancipation Proclamation in Wikipedia. You might be surprised that it did not free all the slaves. It was loaded with exceptions based on politics. Obamacare is the same. Some things never change.

Easy to live well when you don't have to pay your workers.
