We headed down to Key West with a stop in Tavernier to see high school classmates Joe and Therese. We also had lunch in Islamorada which consisted of all the conch appetizers on the menu. Also a cup of conch chowder. We had never had conch before and it was very good. This is high season in Key West so things were a little crowded, but we spent the afternoon and evening in Mallory Square and dragged the gut down Duval Street. We stopped at SoDu, an art gallery that features local artists including my friend Karen from high school. We ended up at this marker and posed for a typical tourist shot before heading back up Duval Street and calling it a day. Hopefully the weather will warm up a little and the wind will calm down. We plan to go to Dry Tortuga on Sunday and are hoping for a nice day.
