I am writing this on October 22. Well, the ship hit the fan this evening when I logged into the Amadolce's WiFi system and tried to pull up pbase. Here is what I got. So, I went to the Cruise Manager and he told me to talk to the desk. I went to the desk and talked to the purser and she told me to talk to the hotel manager. I went to the hotel manager and he told me there was nothing to be done since they contract this whole internet thing out to somebody. So, I emailed AMA Waterways in Los Angeles. They kindly replied and told me to go talk to the Cruise Manager. Having been there and done that already I said the hell with it. I find it interestng that pbase is blocked as a pornography site. Off to a very rocky start with these guys. I ended three weeks behind on my "What I Did Today" posts which I intend to eventually catch up with. On the whole the cruise was very nice. I am currently at the Ritz Carlton in Istanbul. Three nights here and it is back to the humdrum world of reality in Houston.
Is it likely that it was blocked as it has pictures that could tie up a lot of bandwidth if you look at them and the boats connection is low speed, and not a porn issue
Never mind John, look forward to your return to humdrum, it aint so bad as everybody says. To be fair I have occasionally stumbled on some photos on Pbase that were in my opinion pornographic. I did complain, and they were removed. But we do live in a world where the majority are punished for the actions of the minority. I have been punished a lot.
