Today we returned home from our Magical History Tour. After visiting Appomattox yesterday, we drove to Chattanooga and spent the night. Today we spent 14 hours driving back from Chattanooga to our house. When we arrived at the house, there was cold beer in the refrigerator. A happy sight, for sure. Sometimes I forget to stock the fridge before leaving on a trip.
A few statistics about our great adventure:
Time away - 2 weeks, 2 days
Distance traveled - 3700 miles
Longest driving day - 820 miles
Fuel consumed - 154.9 gallens
Average miles per gallon - 23.9
Total fuel cost - $500
We learned a lot on this trip. The main thing was that when every day is Saturday, the possibilities are limitless. I guess we will stay home for a while, this time a whole 3 weeks before we head back to Alpharetta to have new years with the kids. Life is good.
Unfortunately, we decided to leave the Chattanooga area sites to our next road trip. We did notice the ledge on Lookout Mountain and its clean view of the city as we passed by on the highway.
