10-JUL-2011 Ginny

July 10, 2011

110710_0033P.jpg

This is an amazing shot for a couple resons. First, Ginny did a great job of capturing the event. We often get a puff of smoke but seldom get the actual flash. Second, it is clear from the photo that there is a very bright flash when the flintlock fires. The interesting thing is that the flash is so fast that you don't ever see it, whether you are firing the musket or observing. You can tell from the light reflected that the flash is indeed pretty bright. Cool stuff.
