I led the Fort to Sea Trail hike today. There were only two takers, a retired couple from Santa Cruz. They were very interested in the flowers and took lots of photos. One critter that is very common along the trail is the banana slug. It is about 5-6 inches long. I had always wondered what these guys eat, and today I found out. Here are pictured three slugs feasting on a large mushroom.
