I must assure you that I am not a wine snob. I know absolutely nothing about wine from a technical standpoint. I do know what I like, however. That would amount to the attributes of red and dry. Of course, other kinds are fine too, heck, I am not real discerning. Anyway, this is what we did today, among other things. We made a trip to Trader Joe's, a supermarket chain that is noticeably absent in Texas. They feature a "house wine" called Charles Shaw. It has two things going for it. First, it tastes pretty good. Second it is cheap, about $2.75 per bottle. That is why it is known as "Two Buck Chuck." So we got a couple cases. This kind of wine considerably raises our "snob appeal" because it has a cork (albeit plastic) rather than a spigot like the wine-in-a-box we usually get. So Ginny and I can now enjoy a real bottle of wine and not feel like we have spent too much just for a crummy cork.
