Flooded Roads

There are certain places along the upper reaches of the Thames which flood on a regular basis. The local councils put up dozens of signs warning motorists not to park as the road is liable to flood. Without fail, on every high tide some cars will go under. A car that has been fully submerged will never be the same, some are write offs.

Very nice pictures, John. I live at the Thames end of Park House Gardens, above the flood level because our road of houses was built on top of the infill of a gravel pit, about 6 feet above the flood plain level. We have, of course, many pictures, and some videos, of Ranelagh drive flooding. I found your site when trying to find the exact tide level at which flooding occurs, since we have a friend's car parked on our drive for a few weeks, and our car parked under Twickenham bridge, and full moon is in a few days time.
