Black Skimmer at San Carlos Bay: Bunche Beach Preserve
Fort Myers, Florida USA

A virtually black and white bird in high speed flight. I thoroughly enjoyed the
challenge of photographing less than a dozen of this species that broke from what appeared
to be a group of near 100 that were resting on the beach out of range.

I favor the composition of this shot, but not much else about it. I would like
to have had less overexposure of the shot, taken it at a higher shutter speed to give a little
more sharpness, have had an improved depth of field, have less grain, and be qualified
to post process an overall substandard image into something significantly better.

Although I won't dispute that the lens focuses quickly, it wasn't fast enough for the skimmer.
